Is /wɛmɪn/ a valid pronunciation of 'women'? If so, where?
I used to live in Southern California, and I have encountered only two people who have pronounced 'women' (/wɪmɪn/) as /wɛmɪn/.
Is this an attested pronunciation of 'women'? If so, is this endemic to Southern California, or is it acceptable in more regions?

Well, milk and pillow pronounced as melk and pellow is a known phenomenon in that general area, so I wouldn’t be super-surprised is this were another areal case of /ɪ/ being lowered to /ɛ/. I’ve never noticed this pronunciation myself, though.

@Janus: My siblings and I pronounced milk as melk when we were young children, but I too have never heard women pronounced that way.
