“In treatment of” versus “in the treatment of”
I am quite unsure in which scenario does the word treatment take the definite article. I see the word has been used both with and without an article in published works. Do we have any particular rule for this?
I assume it should be:
This study illustrates the role of imipramine in treatment of major depression in adolescence.
But
This study illustrates the role of imipramine in the treatment of
adolescents with major depression.
Is my understanding correct?
