KDE: Switch activity automatically when a specific program is started

Following the question Kde: how to bind permanently an application to a desktop/activity? I have configured plasma such that whenever I start my email client, it always starts in a specific activity. However, the current activity is not changed, i.e. I start a program and keep staring at an empty desktop.

Is it possible to tell KDE that, whenever I start a program that gets started in another activity, that I also want to switch the activity?

EDIT: Information provided by inxi -Sx:

Kernel: 4.14.65-gentoo x86_64 bits: 64 gcc: 7.3.0
Desktop: KDE Plasma 5.13.5 (Qt 5.11.1) Distro: Gentoo Base System release 2.6
