How to say to say something is not very helpful in polite way

0

During work, if someone tries to help solving my problem, but the answer his/her provided is not very helpful. How to say it politely?

One way I can think of is that: thanks for your help! However, I could not find XXX is very helpful in my case.

I would like to know if it sounds polite enough and is there any better and native way to say it?

Thanks!

  • I usually just say "thanks, I will consider your suggestion" even if I know I would ignore the advise. Usually no need to say "this is a bad suggestion", unless s/he insists.

  • Or, depending on the circumstances - "Unfortunately that doesn't really help because XXX, but thanks for the suggestion."

  • I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because this is asking for help with office etiquette. As to what sequence of English words should be used when delivering the response indicated by etiquette, the range is too broad.
