Update Firebase database entry with download url, using RxJS and inside Angular Component

0

I am wondering if there is a more reactive way of achieving following operations since my primary experience is in react it is still hard for me to wrap my head around rxjs especially with operations on nested objects.

import { Component, OnInit } from '@angular/core'
import { Observable, AngularFire } from 'rxjs'
import { DataBaseEntry, DataBaseImageSizes } from '_types_'
import { Store } from '@ngrx/store'
// @ts-ignore
import * as merge from 'lodash.merge'
import * as fromCms from '../../../state/cms.reducer'
import { map } from 'rxjs/operators'
import { AngularFireStorage } from '@angular/fire/storage'

export class PublishComponent implements OnInit {
unpublished$: Observable<DataBaseEntry>

constructor(
private storage: AngularFireStorage,
private store: Store<fromCms.State>,
) {}

ngOnInit() {
this.unpublished$ = this.store.select(fromCms.getUnpublished).pipe(
map(el =>
el.map(({ jpeg, webp, ...rest }) => {
const newJpeg = this.assignDownloadUrls(jpeg)
const newWebp = this.assignDownloadUrls(webp)

return { ...rest, jpeg: newJpeg, webp: newWebp }
}),
),
)
}

assignDownloadUrls(sizes: DataBaseImageSizes) {
return Object.keys(sizes).reduce(
(object, key) => {
let downloadUrl: string
this.getDownloadUrl(sizes[key].name).then(url => {
downloadUrl = url
})

return merge(object, {
[key]: {
...sizes[key],
downloadUrl,
},
})
},
{} as DataBaseImageSizes,
)
}

getDownloadUrl(location: string) {
return this.storage
.ref(location)
.getDownloadURL()
.toPromise()
}
}

Below are types of objects used in this component:

export interface ImagesSizesInterface {
xs: number;
sm: number;
md: number;
lg: number;
xl: number;
}

export const enum ImageFormats {
webp = 'webp',
jpeg = 'jpeg',
}

export interface DataBaseImageObject {
name: string;
size: number;
downloadUrl?: string;
}

export type DataBaseImageSizes = {
[T in keyof ImagesSizesInterface]: DataBaseImageObject
};

export type DataBaseImageFormats = {
[K in ImageFormats]: DataBaseImageSizes
};

export type DataBaseEntry = {
name: string
published: boolean
uploaded: FieldValue
} & DataBaseImageFormats;
