Mouse pointer changed to + sign (precision select). Can hover around on screen but not able to select...

My mouse pointer has changed to + sign and I am not able to select anything on the window from 5 hours. I can change tabs using command + tab keys. Is there a way to get my original mouse cursor back using the terminal and without closing the existing open applications?? Its like someone has grabbed my mouse pointer and now I am not able to click on anything.

  • Is it an actual plus sign, or an "X" (the default X11 mouse cursor). Do you still have the correct window borders and decorations on everything?

  • It is an actual + sign (precision select mouse cursor type). All the windows appear to be the same. I just can't click on any window.
