I saw in a thesaurus that 'colloquial' is synonymous to 'informal' , so can 'in a colloquial gesture, sense, manner etc' be grammatically correct? Or is colloquial only limited to experssion (in a grammatical sense),words? If so , how does the word differ from vernacular? Both seems to pertain to everyday/causal speech.I know vernacular also mean the offical/common language of country/social medium.
