    Those are all simple syntax errors in that awful script. Open it up in your favorite text editor and fix the lines near the end starting with the PATH. You'll have to actually combine those different path lines in one without any space.

the fact that

echo LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/cuda/lib >> ~/.bashrc

gets expanded to

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=:/opt/cuda/lib

indicated that LD_LIBRARY_PATH is either unset or NULL.

try this instead

echo 'PATH=$PATH:/opt/cuda/bin' >> ~/.bashrc
if [[ -z $LD_LIBRARY_PATH ]]
then
echo 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/cuda/lib' >> ~/.bashrc
else
echo 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/cuda/lib' >> ~/.bashrc
fi
echo 'export PATH' >> ~/.bashrc
echo 'export LD_LIBRARY_PATH' >> ~/.bashrc

the fact that

echo LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/cuda/lib >> ~/.bashrc

gets expanded to

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=:/opt/cuda/lib

indicated that LD_LIBRARY_PATH is either unset or NULL.

try this instead

echo 'PATH=$PATH:/opt/cuda/bin' >> ~/.bashrc
if [[ -z $LD_LIBRARY_PATH ]]
then
echo 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/cuda/lib' >> ~/.bashrc
else
echo 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/opt/cuda/lib' >> ~/.bashrc
fi
echo 'export PATH' >> ~/.bashrc
echo 'export LD_LIBRARY_PATH' >> ~/.bashrc

  • Don't you want the old $LD_LIBRARY_PATH included in the new one?
