I have been searching for the definition of ADD (attention deficit disorder) because a lot of people close to me say that I might have it. All I could find is the definition of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) which isn't what I'm looking for.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because this is a technical discussion for a psychology or behavior forum, and not about EL&U per se.

As Hotlicks said, ADHD is the preferred term for what used to be called ADD. The term ADD is deprecated and is not used by the medical community. Speaking of which, don't take diagnoses from people close to you who aren't doctors, nor from strangers on the internet. If you have a medical concern, go to your doctor. He may refer you to a specialist. Lay people are not in a position to diagnose you.
