OpenWRT wifi is not visible unless the WiFi I've connected it to is up and running
I am an absolute noob in OpenWRT, and Linux for that matter.
I have installed OpenWRT on my router and have managed to connect it to another WiFi (call it 'wifi2') and share that WiFi's internet to the clients of the OpenWRT ('wifi1'). But I notice that unless wifi2 is on, wifi1 doesn't even show up in the list of wireless networks.
What have I done wrong? I want 'wifi1' to be available at all times (i.e. the OpenWRT), but its clients to 'have internet' only when wifi2 is up and running too.
I need clients of 'wifi1' to be able to connect to it at all times, regardless if wifi2 is up and running.
wifi1 is 'Master', wifi2 is 'Client'.
What I'm trying to achieve here is: we have 2 phones at home and we turn on hotspots on them. I want the OpenWrt to be up and running at all times and clients to be able to connect to it. And I want the OpenWrt to connect to either hotspot, whenever available (setting a preference would be nice). How do I do that in OpenWrt?
